Chris Owens is the principal of Conundrum Ventures. Born and raised in Alaska, Chris has spent his entire professional life managing the safe delivery of Alaska back country experiences to thousands of people. Through his ownership and management of two of the largest and most respected helicopter skiing and river guiding organizations in the state, Chris has managed logistics and safety in remote locations in almost every environment Alaska has to offer. In that time, he has provided organizational, location, permitting, logistical and safety support to Alaska film, television and print projects since 1997.
Conundrum specializes in safely managing men and materiel in remote locations. We are far more than a "Fixer". With strong connections to associated helicopter and river guiding companies we have vast experience in the Mountains, Glaciers, Rivers and back country of Alaska. We have access to professional guides year round with extensive experience in production support.
Chris regularly works with the television and film industry. We have shot projects with Red Bull Media House Feature Films, The Science Channel, The History Channel, CNN, ESPN, Discovery, the Travel Channel, Warren Miller Entertainment, ABC, NBC, Teton Gravity Research, Switchback Productions, Matchstick Productions, Salomon Freeski TV and a multitude of other film and television production companies. We regularly coordinate the action of helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, safety and action crews, and more in the wilds of Alaska. We have access to remote lodges, repeaters, radio infrastructure and many of the necessities for safe back country production efforts.
